About Mirante Belvedere

The Belvedere is São Joaquim's urban viewpoint, on a hilltop in the central area. From up there you get a panoramic view of much of the town, with the downtown streets, the buildings and the surrounding hills of the Serra Catarinense.

The main access is a stairway that starts at the end of Rua Major Jacinto Goulart, downtown, with signs showing the way. You can also get there by car through the surrounding streets.

The place is simple: there is no snack bar, shop or visitor facilities, and a transmission tower stands at the top. The appeal is the view and the climb through the vegetation.

The stairway is long and has uneven stretches, so it takes some stamina and is not recommended for people with limited mobility. Wear sturdy shoes, especially on days of rain or frost.
