About Parque Estadual do Lajeado

The Parque Estadual do Lajeado is a strictly protected conservation area in the Serra do Lajeado, east of Palmas. It was created by state law in 2001 and is managed by Naturatins, the Tocantins environmental agency.

The park protects a large area of cerrado, with springs, streams and forest. It is also home to rock paintings and animals typical of the region.

Visits follow marked trails, such as Cerradão and Brejo da Passagem, which has bridges and rest areas. Facilities are rustic. The outing involves walking, nature watching and environmental interpretation, with support from the park staff.

It is a good choice if you enjoy nature and hiking. Come prepared for the sun and heat of the cerrado.
