About Parque Cesamar

Parque Cesamar is an urban park in the central area of Palmas and one of the city's most popular places to walk, run and spend the afternoon outdoors. It opened in 1998, on the banks of the Brejo Comprido stream, in a preserved area of cerrado in the middle of the Plano Diretor.

The heart of the park is an artificial lake, formed by damming the stream. A paved walking track runs around it, and an ecological trail goes into the woods. The park also has a playground, sports courts, picnic areas, kiosks and snack bars, restrooms and parking.

The animals are part of the outing. Capybaras wander across the lawn and along the lakeshore, and monkeys often appear in the trees. The park is also home to birds and other cerrado animals.

Inside the park is the Museu Casa Suçuapara, a 1987 house linked to the early days of the capital's construction. The outing is flat and easy, good for families with children, older visitors and anyone who just wants a light walk in the shade.
