Approximate road distances. Check flights and bus schedules before you travel.

Biguaçu is 21 km north of Florianópolis on the BR-101, about half an hour by car. Metropolitan buses leave from the terminal in downtown Florianópolis. The nearest airport is Florianópolis, about 28 km away.

How many days

Half a day is enough for the old Vila de São Miguel. Combine it with São José or with the drive to Governador Celso Ramos.

When to go

Year-round. Avoid Mondays, when the museum is closed. The Festa de São Miguel, honoring the patron saint of the old village, is in September.

Do you need a car?

It helps. Vila de São Miguel is right off the BR-101, outside the town center. Buses run along the highway, but a car makes it easier to stop and continue your trip.
