Frequently asked questions

Do I need a car?

It is the most practical option. There is no regular bus, and the beaches are far from each other. Without a car, you depend on transfers and the pousadas.

How do I get to the natural pools?

By jangada (raft), at low tide. They leave from Praia do Toque and Praia do Centro, and the pousadas usually make the booking.

São Miguel or Maragogi?

São Miguel is quieter, with small pousadas and little nightlife. Maragogi has more facilities, buses and tours. You can stay in one and visit the other.
