Carrancas – MG Destination Historic Towns of Minas Gerais (Estrada Real)
How to get there
In Carrancas' town center, Praça Manoel Moreira serves as a reference point to organize your stay. The route to the Complexo da Ponte follows the Carrancas–Itutinga road; Zilda has a rural access toward Cruzília. Confirm transport and the entry point for each complex before setting out.
How many days
Three days in Carrancas allow you to split time between Zilda, the Complexo da Ponte and a visit to the town center. With two days, choose fewer waterfalls to avoid accumulating rural accesses and hikes.
When to go
For Carrancas' waterfalls, choose a period of stable weather and ask for advice about the conditions of the pools and trails. Rain can change the water even far from the visit point; Fumaça should be treated as a viewing excursion.
Do you need a car?
A car or hired transport is useful in Carrancas because the complexes are located outside the town center. To move around the waterfall areas, arrange the meeting point with the guide and do not assume the vehicle will reach all the pools.
