Caeté – MG Destination Historic Towns of Minas Gerais (Estrada Real)
How to get there
Organize Caeté into three distinct outings: the historic center, the Serra da Piedade, and the district of Morro Vermelho. The address of the Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Bom Sucesso is not the access point to the sanctuary on the mountain.
How many days
One suggestion is to allow two days for Caeté, dedicating one to the center's heritage and the other to the Serra da Piedade. Morro Vermelho can replace one of these plans or justify a third day.
When to go
The pilgrimages to the Serra da Piedade and the cavalhada of Morro Vermelho help in choosing a date to visit Caeté. For the view from the top of the mountain, check operating conditions and avoid a day of persistent fog or stormy weather.
Do you need a car?
Organized transport is useful to connect Caeté with the sanctuary and with Morro Vermelho. In the center, group heritage visits according to addresses; the ascent to the Serra da Piedade needs to be planned separately.

Frequently asked questions
Are the Serra da Piedade and the center of Caeté the same outing?
They are different outings. The town center brings together churches and museums; the sanctuary is atop the Serra da Piedade and requires a separate transfer.
What tradition should you see in Morro Vermelho?
The cavalhada of Nossa Senhora de Nazaré is one of the events in the Caeté district. Check the schedule to plan your visit.
