Nova Redenção is a little over 400 km from Salvador. Poço Azul is about 13 km from downtown and about 94 km from Lençóis. Itaetê, home of Poço Encantado, is about 43 km away. There is no confirmed bus station. Nearest airport: Lençóis; the main one is Salvador.
How many days
One day covers Poço Azul, Olho d'Água da Urânia and Pedra da Arara. Many people combine Poço Azul with Poço Encantado, in Itaetê, on the same day.
When to go
From February to October, in the early afternoon and in sunny weather, light shines into Poço Azul and makes the water glow: this is the best time. From November to March it rains more on the region's roads.
Do you need a car?
Yes, or an agency tour. The attractions are outside town and there is no public transportation to them.

Can you swim in Poço Azul?
You can float, with a life vest and mask, following the site's rules. It is different from Poço Encantado, in Itaetê, where swimming is prohibited.
When does the light shine into Poço Azul?
From February to October, in the early afternoon and with clear skies. At other times you can still float, without the beam of light.
Do I need to hire a guide?
For Poço Azul, you don't need to hire a guide in advance; the visit follows the instructions of the site staff.
