About Museu Felícia Leirner

The Museu Felícia Leirner is an open-air museum in the Alto da Boa Vista neighborhood, in the upper part of Campos do Jordão. Dozens of sculptures by artist Felícia Leirner are spread across gardens, lawns and patches of forest, in an area of about 35,000 square meters. Next door is the Auditório Claudio Santoro, the main venue of the Winter Festival.

Felícia Leirner was born in Warsaw, Poland, in 1904, and came to Brazil in 1927. In the 1960s she moved to Campos do Jordão, and the museum was created in the late 1970s, along with the auditorium. The collection includes pieces in bronze, white cement and granite and is organized by the artist's phases, from figurative to abstract, between 1950 and 1982.

The visit is a relaxed walk along the garden paths, among araucaria pines and other tall trees in a remnant of Atlantic Forest. From some spots, such as the band shell area, you can see the Pedra do Baú. The Auditório Claudio Santoro, with large glass walls facing the landscape, hosts concerts and performances throughout the year.

It is an outing for anyone who enjoys art, nature and photography, and it also appeals to those who just want a break outdoors. There is parking on site, a café and picnic areas, and the space has accessibility features. The terrain has ups and downs, so wear comfortable shoes.
