Cunha – SP Destination Faith Tourist Region

How to get there

  • Terminal Rodoviário da Várzea do Gouveia Cunha

Approximate road distances. Check flights and bus schedules before you travel.

Via the Vale do Paraíba, arrival in Cunha can be arranged from Guaratinguetá and the SP-171. Those traveling by bus should confirm disembarkation at the Terminal Rodoviario da Várzea do Gouveia. Accesses to Macela, Pimenta and Núcleo Cunha are different exits from the town center.

How many days

Three days in Cunha allow you to separate studio visits, Macela and a nature visit to the park or Pimenta. In two days, choose one rural outing per period to avoid a long sequence of roads and hikes.

When to go

For Pedra da Macela, choose a forecast of clear skies and confirm visiting conditions before the climb. In Cunha, studios are an alternative for periods of lower visibility; visits to Núcleo Cunha require prior booking.

Do you need a car?

A car makes travel from Cunha to the rural attractions easier, but the climb to Macela and the park's trails depend on their own rules. If not driving, arrange transport with a scheduled return and book studio visits in advance.
