How to get there
-
Aeroporto Internacional de Cabo Frio (CFB) Cabo Frio · 10 km
-
Terminal Rodoviário Fernando Barros Pessoa
Approximate road distances. Check flights and bus schedules before you travel.
Plan arrival by road, with local access via the RJ-140, or by bus. Cabo Frio airport is a nearby option, but requires transport to Arraial do Cabo and prior checking of flights. Arrange the final leg according to your accommodation location.
How many days
We suggest three days to split Forno, Prainhas do Pontal do Atalaia and urban beaches. In one day, pick a beach and leave Praia Grande for late afternoon. With two days, separate the more demanding accesses and allow room for changes in excursions.
When to go
For sea programmes, the wind forecast and navigation conditions should guide the day. Prefer dates outside holidays and school vacations if you want to avoid busier periods. Have an onshore plan and flexibility to reorganise the trip.
Do you need a car?
A car helps with transfers but doesn't remove the need for trails, stairways or boat access. For Forno and the Prainhas do Pontal do Atalaia, choose access according to your mobility and local conditions. Confirm return transport before setting out.
