About Sala Fragmentos de uma Civilização
The room Fragmentos de uma Civilização is an exhibition space in São Nicolau, listed among the visits in the Caminho das Missões program. Its role is to add information to the observation of historical remains, offering an interpretation of materials and memory related to the town and the missionary settlement. The name identifies a local exhibition, not another reduction or a separate municipality.
Visiting the room before or after the archaeological area can help relate what remains on the ground to the narratives presented by those responsible. The arrangement of the collection and the themes on display depend on the current organization; therefore the presence of a specific item should not be guaranteed without confirmation.
Check the access point and opening hours with the municipal tourism staff. A group program or collection conservation work may change the visit. During your stay, follow the guidelines on photography and keep an appropriate distance from the exhibited materials, respecting the memorial function of the space.
