About Cachoeira de Iracema
Cachoeira de Iracema is one of the most visited waterfalls in Presidente Figueiredo, in the state of Amazonas, a town known as the Land of Waterfalls. It is inside a private ecological park beside the BR-174, north of downtown, on the way to Roraima.
The water drops about 8 meters over a rock wall in the middle of the forest. The scenery changes with the river level. At high water, the current gets strong. In the low-water season, the water flows more gently, natural pools form and you can sit under the falls for a natural massage.
The same park has other attractions linked by trails: Cachoeira das Araras, downstream, and a few caves with sandstone walls carved by water. You can spend the day moving between them.
The main falls are reached by a short, easy trail, which makes it a good option for families with children. Even so, there are slippery rocks and deep spots, so take care when swimming.
