About Praia do Félix
Praia do Félix (beach) is on the northern coast of Ubatuba, in a cove surrounded by Atlantic Forest. It has light sand, clear water and two very different sides, which appeals to both families and surfers.
The right end is the calmest. The sea there is usually gentle and, among the rocks, natural pools form that are good for kids and for snorkeling with a mask. This is also where the kiosks are. The left end is more secluded and has stronger waves, sought after by surfers.
The beach is the starting point for short trails to neighboring beaches. From the right end, a trail leads to Praia do Português, with rocks and clear water. From the left end, a walk of about twenty minutes reaches Praia das Conchas.
Access is via a road off the BR-101 that runs through a gated community to the parking lot, close to the sand. It requires no physical effort, unless you want to hike the trails.

How much time to set aside
Half a day lets you enjoy the beach; a full day lets you hike the trails to the neighboring beaches.
Best time
From late spring to early fall, on sunny days with a calm sea, when the water is clearest. Arrive early on weekends and holidays, because the parking lot fills up.
How to get there
It is about 17 km north of downtown Ubatuba. From the BR-101 (Rio–Santos), the entrance passes through a gated community and continues for about 1 km to the parking lot. City bus lines heading to the north of town run along the highway.
Tip
For the calmest sea and the natural pools, stay at the right end. Bring a diving mask and water shoes for walking on the rocks.
