About Praia de Água Boa
Praia de Água Boa is in the village of the same name, in the countryside of Salvaterra, on Marajó Island, near the village of Joanes. It is a small, quiet beach washed by Marajó Bay, visited more by local residents than by mass tourism.
What sets it apart is the igarapé that runs through the village and empties onto the beach. The way to the sand crosses a bridge over it and passes large cashew trees. At low tide, natural pools form on the sand, and the sea has few waves.
Facilities are simple: a few restaurants and stalls with hammocks, serving fish and home-style dishes. During the day, fishermen arrive in small boats and sell their fish right on the beach.
It is a place to relax, swim in the igarapé and the sea and eat fresh fish, away from the bustle of Joanes and Praia Grande.
