About Praia Grande
Praia Grande is a beach with about 1 km of white sand in Governador Celso Ramos, on the northern coast of Greater Florianópolis. The shoreline is surrounded by vegetation and the vacation homes are set back a little from the sand.
The beach has the international Blue Flag certification, awarded to beaches that meet criteria for water quality, environmental management, safety and facilities. It's the beach in Santa Catarina with the most consecutive seasons holding the certification.
There are kiosks, restrooms and showers, and in high season vendors walk the beach and banana boat rides depart. The sea is open, with waves, and the left side of the beach is popular with surfers.
Access is direct from the highway, which makes it easy for families to visit. If you like walking, you can continue on foot to neighboring Praia das Bananeiras.

In summer, from December to March, when the Blue Flag facilities are fully running and the water is more pleasant; mornings are usually quieter.
How to get there
It's in Governador Celso Ramos (Santa Catarina), on the coast north of Florianópolis. On the BR-101, take the exit for Governador Celso Ramos and follow the SC-410, which leads directly to the beach.
