About Praia de Itapirubá Sul
Praia de Itapirubá Sul is in Laguna's northern sector. Territorial division matters for the visit: the southern beach belongs to Laguna, while the northern portion is in Imbituba. The sand and the coastal scenery form a visit of their own, separate from the Centro Histórico.
In winter and spring the place can be used for land-based observation of southern right whales. Look for recent information on sightings and use binoculars without approaching the animals. Sightings are not guaranteed, and sea conditions and visibility change; walk along permitted access routes, preserving coastal vegetation.
Enjoying the landscape and walking along the sand are also part of the visit when no animals are in view.
