About Morro do Boi
Morro do Boi (hill) is the rocky headland that separates Praia Mansa from Praia Brava, in Caiobá, the busiest beach town in Matinhos, on the Paraná coast. It is about 160 meters high, with vegetated slopes and one side facing the open sea.
An ecological trail starts at the end of Praia Mansa and passes the small Praia dos Amores, also called Praia Bela, hidden behind the hill. The path continues to the other side of the headland, facing the open sea, where fishermen often stand on the rocks.
From the top, the panoramic view takes in the beaches of Caiobá and Matinhos and much of the coast. The hill is also popular for climbing, rappelling and paragliding, always with proper equipment and supervision.
The climb has steep, rocky stretches. It calls for sturdy shoes and some fitness, and it is not recommended for people with reduced mobility. The rocks near the sea get slippery, and the edges of the headland have no railings.

Best time
Clear mornings, in any season, when it is cooler and the view reaches farther; avoid rainy days, which make the trail and rocks slippery.
How to get there
It is in Caiobá, between Praia Mansa and Praia Brava (beaches), in Matinhos (PR). The trailhead is at the end of Praia Mansa, which you can reach on foot along the Caiobá waterfront. From Curitiba, take the BR-277 and the PR-508 (Rodovia Alexandra-Matinhos), and there are intercity buses to Matinhos.
Tip
Bring water, wear sneakers with good grip and stay away from the edges of the rocky headland, especially when the rock is wet.
