About Cachoeira Véu da Noiva (Muriqui)
Cachoeira Véu da Noiva (Bridal Veil Falls) is in the district of Muriqui, in Mangaratiba, on the edge of the Parque Estadual Cunhambebe, one of the largest protected Atlantic Forest areas in Rio de Janeiro state. It's one of the most popular waterfalls on the Costa Verde, thanks to its proximity to the Rio-Santos highway and its short trail.
The river forms a series of falls and natural pools. A forest trail leads first to the lower part, where the main fall is, and then branches off for those who want to climb to the upper part.
In the upper part the water flows more gently and the pools are shallow, which suits families with children. The water is cold and clear, and the surroundings are dense forest.
The trail is short and easy to moderate, with stretches of rock and roots. It's not wheelchair accessible.
