About Praia do Centro
Praia do Centro (beach) is the beach in front of the town center of São Miguel dos Milagres, on the north coast of Alagoas, on the Rota Ecológica dos Milagres (Ecological Route). It is a town beach, used by locals, with clear water protected by the reefs of the Costa dos Corais and coconut palms along the waterfront.
What stands out most are the colorful jangadas (rafts) resting on the sand. They run the town's best-known trip: the ride to the natural pools formed on the reefs, which only happens at low tide. There, you can swim and snorkel among the fish in the shallow, clear water.
At low tide, sandbanks also appear near the shore, and the sea becomes calm and shallow, good for swimming. Facilities are simple, with a few food stalls, without the tourist-village feel of other beaches in the region.
It is a good choice if you want to combine the jangada trip with an unhurried swim. The calm sea appeals to families with children. Boarding the jangada is done from the sand and through shallow water, which can be difficult for people with reduced mobility.
