Frequently asked questions

Do I need to book the manatee trip?

Yes. You book in advance through the community association that runs the trip; don't count on getting a spot on the same day.

Am I sure to see a manatee?

The animals being readapted stay in an enclosure in the river and are usually seen. Those that already live free may or may not show up; there is no guarantee.

Can I get there by bus?

There is no regular line. Your options are a car, a transfer from Maceió or the pousadas' transportation.
