Colinas do Sul is 33 km from the village of São Jorge via the paved GO-239, and about 70 km from Alto Paraíso. You can also get there via Niquelândia. Buses from Brasília go as far as Alto Paraíso; from there on, plan on a car. The nearest airport is Brasília.
How many days
One day: the boat trip on the Lago de Serra da Mesa and the waterfalls near town. You can do it as a day trip from São Jorge or Alto Paraíso.
When to go
In the dry season, from May to September, the trails are firm and the lake forms small beaches along its shores. July brings the Caçada da Rainha, the town's traditional festival.
Do you need a car?
Yes. Public transportation to town is scarce, and the waterfalls are outside the center.
